FAQs

Q: How do I order?
A: Call 678-762-1088.

Q: How are dumpsters priced?
A: Every dumpster is quoted per haul or per dump.  So each time it is emptied there is a charge.

Q: How much lead time do I need to give you?
A: Typically we need around 24 hours notice.  Orders placed before 10 am should be filled the next day, but during peak season in Spring and Summer this is not a guarantee.  Feel free to call the office or you may e-mail chris@atlas-disposal.com for an ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) for your service.

Q: How long can I keep the dumpster?
A: Seven days for all sizes, except when there is a promotion for a longer rental period.

Q: Can I fill the dumpster over the top?
A: No. We have to be able to tarp the dumpsters in order to haul them. Over loading it would prevent us from being able to haul it.

Q: What can I put in the dumpster?
A: Drywall, lumber, empty buckets, household junk, cans, construction debris. No food waste!

Q: What cannot go into the dumpsters?

A: No hazardous waste, chemical products, radioactive materials, paints, aerosol cans, propane tanks, motor oils, tires, asbestos, railroad ties, mattresses or food waste are allowed in the container under any circumstances.

Q: Do you take mattresses?
A:  No. The reason for this is because most landfills will not take them since they normally don’t have the machinery to chop them up. If a mattress or box spring is put into the dumpster, it will be left until it is removed, and a trip charge will occur.

Q: Do you take refrigerators or freezers?
A:  Yes, as long as the Freon has been removed.

Q: Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
A: It will likely scratch the surface since the wheels are metal. If you place plywood on the driveway where you want the dumpster located the driver will place it under the wheels of the dumpster to prevent scratches. We are not responsible if your driveway cracks, crumbles or collapses.  If your driveway has settled over the years it is not at the fault of Atlas Disposal. It is the homeowners’ duty to ensure that the driveway is safe for us to be on. That being said, it is extremely rare for driveways to collapse from a dumpster. If you are unsure of the stability of your driveway, give us a call, and we will be happy to help you find a better alternative.

Q: What happens if my dumpster goes over the allowed tonnage?

A: This can be avoided by making sure you’re using the correct size dumpsters (different sizes have different weight limits). Also the bigger and heavier the items are it can take up a lot of the tonnage. However, in the case where it does go over tonnage, there is a $70/ton charge for anything over the allowed tonnage. Over tonnage rates may vary according to location, type of debris, etc.

Q: Can I keep the dumpster for longer than the initial rental period?

A: Yes. You would need to contact our office to ask if the dumpster can be rented for a longer period. There is a rental fee for extra days. You also need to make sure you contact us at least day prior to the initial pick up as our pick ups are automatically scheduled.
